We Are Proud to be Part of the Coastside Community
We are a farmer-directed Certifed Market designed to link Coastside residents with their neighbors — the Coastside farmers, ranchers, fishermen and culinary artisans that produce some of the most beautiful, nutritious and creative food in the world.
Twice a week we showcase these outstanding producers, as well as providing an incubator for emerging local businesses and a forum for our many community-serving nonprofits.
We serve the Coastside community from Pacifica to Pescadero, and the many visitors to the area, and offer a resilient forum for direct relationships to develop and endure between the people of our community and those who produce our food.
Interview with Erin Tormey, founder of the Coastside Farmers Markets in Half Moon Bay and Pacifica
We learn about how fresh that food is in your local store, why all produce has to be the same size and why buying and selling food at a farmers market is completely different. And, we tackle the myth about market foods being more expensive. We also learn how government agencies can help low income citizens in our neighborhoods eat healthy too.
Farmers, ranchers and artisan producers of the coastside farmers markets
We have had the privilege and pleasure of creating two thriving markets that have become crucial pieces in ensuring the sustainability of emerging young farmers, supporting our established family farms, and preserving the treasured agricultural heritage and community spirit of the Coastside.
We express our gratitude
The Coastside Certified Farmers' Markets are as good as they are because our Coastside farmers, ranchers and fishermen enjoy the enduring support of our patrons and the Friends of the Farmers' Markets.
AND we all owe a debt of gratitude to our Sponsors. The annual investments help us to keep our market the vibrant, balanced, locally focused and economically sustainable community asset we have become. Sponsor support is vital to the many programs we pilot at our sites, and we are incredibly grateful for the partnerships that allow us to present terrific local music every market day, offer a gratis program to our local non-profits, serve as a conduit for providing food to hungry people in our communities, host blood drives, health screenings, and other community services.
Thank them for us if you find yourself in their place of business, willya?
If you own a business that is locally based, community serving and are interested in joining our select cadre of sponsors, please contact Erin Tormey.
